Absent

Absent traditionally means “not present in a place, at an occasion, or as part of something.” however this isn’t a dictionary definition.  This is a bio about a dude who calls himself Absent. He started mixing in 2013 after having discovered a deep passion for all aspects of dance music especially Drum and Bass.

The Ōtautahi / Christchurch native is a talented DJ, an aspiring Producer & experienced Radio Host. Despite the traditional meaning of the name, music is where he can be Absent from his own battles and struggles and instead find community and a sense of belonging.
In his time in the scene he has found himself proudly playing support for legends like: Mollie Collins, State of Mind, The Upbeats, The Prototypes, K+Lab, Truth & More.

He was a proud member of the Pulzar FM Radio family in Christchurch from 2018 until its very last broadcast in May of 2023. It was there his passion for radio and live broadcast shows was etched into his being and it has continued to grow leading to his explorations with his new show on PHDM Radio. Absent prides himself on his impromptu style, embracing the new sounds of the scene while drawing on the flavours of the past to create a unique blend that leaves a lasting impression on audiences.
